Working to preserve Colombia's ecosystems

The Fundación Planeta Azul Caribe (FUPAC), is an organization that works to raise awareness about the ecosystem services that the Natural Ecosystems of the Colombian Caribbean provide.

One aspect of this work is the management and evaluation of the urban mangrove ecosystem through strategies of education and communication.

Our most successful strategy has been working with young people from the local neighbourhoods who train with us to become Multiplying Environmental Guardianes (Guardianes Ambientales Multiplicadores or GAM) to socialise environmental messages and practices in their communities.

These strategies are supported by a multidisciplinary team of local and international volunteers who add value to our organization with their diverse skills, knowledge and experience from other cultures, thus helping us to achieve our objectives.
